Intramuscular Stimulation / Dry needling is a therapy that uses extremely fine needles which are inserted into the target muscle to help relieve pain and improve function. Often the patient reports a twitch, a deep achey feeling or a pressure when undergoing IMS / Dry Needling. The therapist then removes the needle and moves onto the next.
The needles are solid and do not deliver any solution – this is why it is known as a “dry needling” technique. IMS / Dry Needling can provide relief from pain, improve range of motion, and help to ease muscle tension. Some common injuries successfully treated with IMS / Dry Needling include:
• Neck Pain
• Shoulder Problems
• Lower Back Pain
• Knee Conditions
• Tendonitis
• Sciatica
• Hip Pain
